Our Delbury Hall Summer Wedding

Firstly, I need to apologise for the lack of blogs lately! I was running out of inspo, but fortunately I celebrated my 1 year wedding anniversary last week, which I'm told is the paper anniversary - thank the lord as I am broke so a card will have to suffice! So I thought for this blog, I'd share our wedding album with you all. Our photos are by the lovely Florence Fox - we couldn't recommend her highly enough. I love the natural style of her photos and she made us feel so at ease. There was no posing other than a handful of bridal party & family photos, just lots of lovely atmospheric shots of the day. I find myself looking at our wedding photos probably more than I should.. is that sad?!

My husband and I married at the rural and scenic Delbury Hall in Shropshire on the 25th July 2018. We married in the neighbouring, historic St. Peter's Church in Diddlebury and had our reception in Delbury Hall's stunning coach house. We fell in love with Delbury Hall as soon as we visited. It was the 4th venue we looked at and just somehow knew when we saw it that it was the one for us. It's close proximity to the church was ideal as it meant our guests could meander from the ceremony to the reception, and there was accommodation on site to house our wedding party.

Ludlow Catering took care of the food for us, serving cocktails and nibbles on arrival followed by an afternoon tea with a twist wedding breakfast that featured mini slider burgers, pulled pork wraps, mac & cheese balls and a selection of super cute mini puds. Amber's Woodfired Kitchen came along with their super cool pizza van for our evening food - which went down very well!

I chose a Stella York 6341 mermaid gown from Shropshire Country Brides for my ceremony dress. I made tulle off-the-shoulder straps which I added on, and created a soft peach ombre veil to match the underskirt on the dress. I had a star embellished headband from Atelier Lilac on Etsy and pink Louboutin heels which were an engagement gift. My hairdresser Carrie Ward styled my hair, and Colette Bailey did the makeup for me & my squad. My bridesmaids wore blush dresses by TFNC and we carried protea and eucalyptus bouquets from Blooms of Bridgnorth. Will from Blooms also decorated the church arch with a beautiful garland, and we chose 'pink lemonade' confetti from another local supplier, Shropshire Petals. I was transported to the church in a super cute cream soft top vintage VW Beetle from Beetlebugs. Although the church was next to the venue, it was so nice to arrive in style and have 20 minutes to ourselves as we drove around after the ceremony.

Music is important to us, so we chose King Brasstards to play in the church & at the arrival drinks, whilst an old friend of ours Liam Price did an acoustic set in the evening and sang our first dance, which was Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper. We decorated the coach house ourselves with vintage finds, boho peacock chairs, tassel garlands from TK Maxx, succulents, amethyst crystals & Himalayan salt lamps. Illuminate FX put up gorgeous fairy lights & uplighters to add atmosphere.

In the evening I changed into an Oksana Mukha top & skirt from Dolly Blue Bridal in Shrewsbury, teamed with satin Jimmy Choo mules which offered a comfortable change! My husband wore a suit from Moss Brothers.

I absolutely loved our wedding day. Although I can't believe a year has passed, the day went at such a lovely pace and I wish I could relive it!
