When thinking of a concept for this shoot, I kept thinking ‘what if Carrie Bradshaw got married today’? The idea was to take sleek city styling and juxtapose it with a rural, barn venue to create an idea that this fashion-forward bride had eloped for a low-key luxury wedding in scenic Shropshire. The Bridal Barn is a new wedding nestled in woodland that offers an impressive blank canvas with the option of tipi hire. The exposed brick and large windows ensure gorgeous views all round, whilst the rural setting feels secluded and private – like you could really make this place your own for the weekend.
The styling was an eclectic mix of high street and bridal pieces, with a focus on the accessories. She is a bride who lets her accessories do the talking so we chose some statement pieces that inject personality into an outfit and allow you to express your personal style whilst still feeling bridal. I run W Collective, and I make bespoke veils for offbeat brides. For this shoot I chose a selection of metallic veils, and subtle ombre shades for interesting textures and tones.
Gilly Page provided flower crowns and her awesome floral adorned fedoras, which ooze effortless chic. Zara of Refined Delux provided simple statement jewellery in rose gold tones and Cat of Ginger Moon brought along her gorgeous props to create a beautiful bohemian backdrop.
This shoot was designed to inspire the millennial bride to be herself. If you’re on a budget outfit wise, accessories are an ideal way to incorporate your personal style and add a conversation starter to your look, whether it be an embroidered constellation veil, a chic beaded headband, or a fun floral fedora. Your statement style should shine through on your wedding day, so don’t be bogged down by the illusion of what you think you ‘should’ look like – just do you!
